Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and contains no errors. It is God revealing to man who He is, what He is like, and what He expects of His people. The Bible is the ultimate authority. (Matthew 24:35; Hebrews 4:12; and 2 Timothy 3:15-17)

God exists eternally in the form of the trinity – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. God created the Heavens and the Earth and everything in it. He is our creator, He loves us and He wants to have a close and intimate relationship with us. He wants us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 14:2-3; and John 14:1)

Jesus is God’s Son. He was born of the virgin Mary, and was sent to earth to be the Savior of all mankind. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and was raised bodily from the dead. Through this act of supreme love, he fully paid the penalty for our sin – in doing this he conquered death forever. He is the Savior and Lord of anyone who believes and accepts His payment for their sins. (John 3:16; 8:12; 14:6; Luke 1:30-35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Man (i.e. mankind, both men and women) was created by God in His image. Man was created to have a close and intimate relationship with God; unfortunately, man willfully chose to sin, and thus caused a separation from God (spiritual death). By nature, every human descended from fallen Adam is a sinner, and we are all in need of the forgiveness of God. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Mark 10:8; Isaiah 53:6)

Sin is missing the mark concerning the things God wants us to do. God established His guidelines and commands for mankind, and if we break just one of them we are guilty of sin and deserve the consequences. The punishment for sin is eternal death, which involves spending eternity in a place called Hell, completely cut off from God forever. (Romans 3:9; 3:2; 6:23; James 2:10; 4:17; Galatians 3:22)

Salvation (i.e. being saved from the penalty of sin) for a person can only come through the person accepting the shed blood of Jesus Christ as payment for their sin. Jesus died to pay the penalty for sin: all who call upon His name, and place their faith and trust in His death, burial and resurrection will experience salvation. A person must make the decision to turn away from their way of life (practicing sin), and turn to God for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus is the only way to go the God the Father and receive eternal life in heaven. (Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10 John 14:6; 20:31; Isaiah 53:5)

The Christian Life God would have the believer (i.e. the one who believes in Jesus as their personal Savior) live is made clear to us through God’s word (The Bible). He expects us to live holy, love others, and worship Him alone. He wants us to grow in our relationship with Him through daily prayer, Bible reading, and serving in a local church (a group of believers gathering together in a local community). He expects a believer to live in a way that others can see how Jesus Christ is making a difference in his life; and, a believer is supposed to tell others how Jesus changed him (give their own personal testimony), and tell them how they can accept Jesus as their personal Savior so He can change them too. He has given every believer gifts and talents, and He expects them to be used for His glory to accomplish His purposes. Jesus himself modeled the perfect lifestyle and the Bible instructs us to imitate Him. (1 John 2:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 5:1; 4:17-32; Galatians 2:20; Matthew 22:36-37)
